1 Refer-a-Friend $20 REI Gift Card Information:
For the referring cardmember: The $20 Refer-a-Friend REI gift-card bonus is earned for each REI member you refer. You cannot earn a Refer-a-Friend bonus by referring someone who is already an REI Visa cardmember or an applicant who has been referred by someone else.

Your REI member number must be included on the referred application for you to be eligible for the REI gift-card bonus. Six to eight weeks after the referred new account is approved, activated and used to make a purchase, a gift card will be mailed to your primary card's primary-applicant address. 

Your account must be open and in good standing to be eligible for the bonus. REI is responsible for the distribution of REI rebates.

Due to confidentiality, sponsors cannot be notified, either in writing or by phone, as to which referrals have been approved for the REI Visa card.

Should U.S. Bank determine that the referral bonus' you receive constitute reportable income, their value will be reported to you and the IRS on form 1099.   You are responsible for any federal or state taxes owed on referral bonus'.  Consult your tax adviser should you have questions about the taxability of this promotion.


2 5% back applies to net REI purchases (purchases minus credits and returns) including full-price and discount-price items, REI gift cards, services, fees and REI Adventures-invoiced trip payments.
3 1% back applies to net non-REI purchases (purchases minus credits and returns) only. Advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, interest or finance charges and fees, credit insurance charges, or transactions to fund certain prepaid card products are not eligible.
4 REI Gift Card Offer: To receive this one-time REI gift card, you must be an REI member, apply and be approved for an REI Visa card and then activate your card and make a purchase within 60 days. Purchase requirement is met by purchases only; balance transfers, convenience checks, cash advances, finance charges and fees are not applicable. Six to eight weeks after that purchase, the REI gift card will be mailed to the primary applicant's address. This offer is subject to credit card approval and your new REI Visa card account must be open and in good standing at time of fulfillment to receive the REI gift card. This gift card offer is available only to new REI Visa card accounts booked through this special offer. Existing and previous REI Visa cardmembers are not eligible for this offer.
