Two Easy Ways to Refer a Friend

  1. Have your friend(s) apply online. Just provide them with your REI member number and invite them to apply online. Make sure to have them apply at reivisa.com/raf. Just shoot them an email with the info. It couldn't be easier!
  2. Have your friends apply by phone. Be sure they know your REI member number (as well as their own) when they call so you both get your $20 REI gift cards. Call 1-877-734-9737, ext. 5030.

1 Refer-a-Friend $20 REI Gift Card Information:
For the referring member: The $20 Refer-a-Friend REI gift-card bonus is earned for each REI member you refer who applies, activates and makes a purchase with their new REI Visa card. You cannot earn a Refer-a-Friend bonus by referring someone who is already an REI Visa cardmember or an applicant who has been referred by someone else.

Your REI member number must be included on the referred application for you to be eligible for the REI gift-card bonus. Six to eight weeks after the referred new account is approved, activated and used to make a purchase, a gift card will be mailed to your primary card's primary-applicant address.

Your account must be open and in good standing to be eligible for the bonus. REI is responsible for the distribution of REI rebates.

Due to confidentiality, sponsors cannot be notified, either in writing or by phone, as to which referrals have been approved for the REI Visa card.

$20 for your friend(s): The $20 Refer-a-Friend REI gift-card bonus is in addition to the enrollment bonus and will be awarded to new REI Visa cardmembers after they apply, activate and make a purchase. Purchase requirement is met by purchases only; balance transfers, convenience checks, cash advances, finance charges and fees are not eligible. Six to eight weeks after the first purchase, the REI gift card will be sent to the primary applicant's address. REI is responsible for the distribution of REI gift cards. The REI Visa card account must be open and in good standing at the time of fulfillment to receive the REI gift card. This offer is only available to REI Visa card accounts booked through this special offer. Existing and previous REI Visa cardmembers are not eligible for this offer.
2 5% back applies to net REI purchases including full-price and discount-price items, REI gift cards, services, fees and REI Adventures-invoiced trip payments.
3 1% back applies to net non-REI purchases only. Advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, interest or finance charges and fees, credit insurance charges, or transactions to fund certain prepaid card products such as Visa Buxx® are not eligible.
4 No member refund on REI gift cards, services, fees, REI Adventures trips or discount-price items.
